Play Minesweeper for free at Brevio's Minesweeper — a classic 9×9 beginner grid with 10 mines, right in your browser with no download or login needed.
How to Play Minesweeper
- Click any square to reveal it. Your first click is always safe — mines are placed after.
- Numbers show how many mines are in the 8 surrounding squares.
- Right-click (or long-press on mobile) to place a flag 🚩 on a suspected mine.
- Reveal all safe squares without triggering a mine to win.
- If you hit a mine, all mines are revealed and the game ends. Click New Game to restart.
Reading the Numbers
The number in each revealed cell tells you exactly how many mines border that cell — including diagonals. A "1" means exactly one of the eight neighbors is a mine. If you count flags around a cell and they equal its number, the remaining covered neighbors are safe to reveal. Empty cells (no number) have zero neighboring mines and automatically reveal their neighbors in a flood-fill.
Strategy Tips
Start in a corner or edge — these cells have fewer neighbors, which makes the initial numbers more informative. Flag mines as you identify them to avoid accidental clicks. When stuck, look for cells where the count equals the number of remaining covered neighbors — those are all mines.
