Convert density units between kg/m³, g/cm³, g/mL, lb/ft³, lb/gal and more. Free, instant, no signup.

Como usar esta ferramenta

  1. Enter a density value.
  2. Pick its unit — kg/m³, g/cm³, g/mL, lb/ft³, or lb/gal.
  3. Read the converted density across the other units.

Common reference: water = 1 g/cm³ = 1000 kg/m³. Gold = 19.3 g/cm³. Air at sea level ≈ 1.225 kg/m³.

Perguntas frequentes

How do the density units relate?
1 g/cm³ = 1000 kg/m³ and g/cm³ equals g/mL exactly, so water at ~1 g/cm³ is ~1000 kg/m³. The base unit is kg/m³.
What about the imperial units?
1 lb/ft³ ≈ 16.0185 kg/m³ and 1 lb/US gal ≈ 119.83 kg/m³. The pound-per-gallon figure depends on using the US gallon.
Why is water a handy reference?
Pure water is close to 1 g/cm³ (1 g/mL, 1000 kg/m³) at room temperature, so any density can be read roughly as a multiple of water — a useful sanity check.
Is my value sent anywhere?
No. Densities are converted through fixed factors inside your browser, with no upload.
