How it works
Lexio uses a curated pool of 264 common English words as answers, each exactly 6 letters. Your guess is checked against a larger validation pool of 1,286 words so only real words are accepted. Evaluation uses a two-pass algorithm: correct positions are marked first, then remaining letters are checked for presence in the wrong position. Duplicate letters follow standard rules — each instance is counted separately.
About Lexio
Lexio is a word-guessing game in the style of Wordle, but the hidden word is always six letters long instead of five, and you get six attempts to find it. You type a six-letter guess and submit it, and each tile is color-coded against the answer: green means the letter is correct and in the right position, yellow means the letter is in the word but somewhere else, and grey means the letter does not appear in the word at all. You read those clues, refine your next guess, and try to land on the exact word before your sixth row runs out.
Behind the colors is a precise evaluation. The answer is drawn from a curated pool of common six-letter English words, and every guess you submit is checked against a much larger list of valid six-letter words, so only real words are accepted and a nonsense string simply shakes and is rejected without costing you a turn. Feedback is computed in two passes: exact-position matches are marked green first, then the remaining letters are checked for presence elsewhere. That two-pass order is what makes repeated letters behave correctly. If the answer contains a given letter only once but your guess uses it twice, only one instance can light up green or yellow while the extra copy turns grey.
