It places your inputs into a fixed letter format using deterministic logic, which means the same inputs always produce the same letter. There is no language model writing original prose, so you keep full control over the wording and should personalize the draft before sending it.

Which fields are required?

Only three: your full name, the role or job title, and the company. The preview will not appear until all three are filled in. The hiring manager name, background phrase, key skills, why-this-company text, and custom closing are all optional and simply add more paragraphs or detail to the letter when you provide them.

What happens if I leave the hiring manager name blank?

The letter opens with "Dear Hiring Manager," instead of addressing a specific person. If you enter a name, it is used directly in the salutation, for example "Dear Ms. Johnson,". This lets you use the same tool whether or not you have found the contact's name in the job posting or on the company site.

How do I enter multiple skills?

Type your skills in the Key Skills field separated by commas, such as "React, TypeScript, team leadership". The tool trims whitespace and ignores empty entries, then writes them as a natural list. A single skill is phrased in one sentence, while two or more are joined with commas and a final "and" before the last item.

Can I edit the letter after generating it?

Yes, and you should. Use Copy to paste the text straight into an editor or an application form, or use Download to save a .txt file you can open anywhere. Adjust the wording to add specific accomplishments, metrics, and your own voice, since a recruiter responds far better to concrete detail than to a generic template.

What format does the download use?

It downloads a plain UTF-8 text file named cover-letter.txt. There is no styling, font, or page layout, which makes it easy to paste into any application system or word processor where you can then apply your own formatting or letterhead.

Will every applicant who uses this get a unique letter?

No. Because the structure is templated, people who enter similar details will produce similar letters. The tool gives you a clean, grammatically correct skeleton; the personalization that makes a letter stand out comes from the specifics you add afterward, so always tailor the draft to the individual role.

Is my information stored or sent anywhere?
