The Invoice Generator builds a clean, professional PDF invoice from a simple form, so a freelancer or small business can bill a client without buying accounting software or signing up for an account. You fill in the invoice details, your details, the client's details, and a list of line items; the tool calculates the totals as you type and produces a finished PDF you can send straight away. It is designed for the common case of getting a tidy, correct invoice out the door quickly.

The form is organized the way an invoice reads. You enter an invoice number, issue date, and due date, and pick a currency from USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, and CHF. There are separate From and Bill To blocks for your name or company, address, and email. The line items table takes a description, quantity, and unit price per row, shows each line's total, and lets you add or remove rows freely. You set a tax percentage and can add a notes field for payment terms or bank details. A live totals panel shows the subtotal, the tax amount, and the grand total updating in real time, with each value rounded to two decimal places so the figures match what the PDF will print.

When you generate, pdf-lib lays out an A4 invoice on your device: a header with the INVOICE title and your number and dates, the From and Bill To blocks side by side, a striped line-items table, a right-aligned totals block with subtotal, tax, and total, and your notes beneath. Amounts are formatted with a currency symbol for USD, EUR, and GBP and with the currency code for the others. The file downloads named after your invoice number, and the whole document is assembled in the browser with nothing stored or sent anywhere. To save re-typing, a preset bar can remember choices like your currency, default tax rate, and company name for the next invoice.

A few practical limits are worth noting. The layout is a single A4 page with one font, so a very long list of line items or very long addresses can run past the bottom of the page rather than flowing onto a second sheet; keep descriptions concise for long invoices. The tool calculates totals but is not bookkeeping software — it does not track payments, store past invoices, or handle multiple tax rates per line. For straightforward, good-looking invoices that you control entirely, that simplicity is the appeal.
